First food production with purified rainwater

After months of preparation, the first soup of purified rainwater was produced at Uytewaal Catering last week and it tasted excellent.

The production of food with rainwater is very special, because until now this has only been carried out with drinking water. However, as part of the VIDA project (www.vidaproject.eu), D2D Water Solutions shows that rainwater can also be an excellent source for food production.

The value for the food chain is substantial, because it can lead to a 50% reduction in precious drinking water. The need to save drinking water is enormous, because worldwide more than 25% of mankind is already struggling with a shortage of clean drinking water.
